2. Soda
It might be convenient to grab a soda when you’re out or at work but it’s one of the worst things you can do for your health, particularly if it’s for lunch. Soda is nutritionally poor, so when you drink it, you’re not nourishing your body, you’re only consuming empty calories. Opting for soda with artificial sweeteners won’t fix the problem, as sweeteners come with their own long list of health hazards and drinking this type of soda can result in serious drops in your concentration and energy levels.
There’s another big reason you should never have soda for lunch – and that’s because research has found it can make you crave salty foods for ages afterwards. This can cause you to experience a big dip in energy, unless you snack throughout the afternoon. This is why you’ll always find soda in fast-food cafes -as they know drinking it will make you want to eat – and buy even more!
Have you’ve been wondering why you’ve been feeling so tired once the afternoon hits, or why you can’t seem to stop snacking or shift those stubborn pounds? Now you know that it could all be due your soda habit, which may be causing you to snack when you otherwise wouldn’t. Next time you grab a beverage at lunch, why not avoid grabbing a soda from the cupboard, vending machine, or cafe and go for a healthier option, like water or green tea instead?
