5. Vending Machine Snacks
Though vending machine snacks are an easy, quick choice to make, they’re not a good option when it comes to your lunch, as many studies confirm that they contribute to high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. One 2023 study conducted by Imperial College, London even discovered there may be a link to increased chances of cancer and the regular consumption of these types of foods!
This is distressing but it’s because a lot of vending machine snacks are highly processed and they contain high amounts of salt, sugar, unhealthy fats and sweeteners. If you eat them regularly for lunch, they could seriously harm your health and they’ll almost certainly cause major energy spikes and crashes.
The truth is, vending machine snacks just don’t nourish your body, as they lack the vitamins, fibre and nutrients your system needs to feel continuously energised and stay healthy. They can also throw you completely out of balance as they don’t contain the essential macronutrients -carbohydrates, proteins, and fats that are needed to make up a well-rounded meal.
While the odd indulgence is okay, it’s not good to regularly fill up on vending machine foods at lunch, as if you do, you won’t sustain steady levels of energy and you’ll deprive yourself of the nutrients you need.
