Green Tea
Many of us choose to drink green tea instead of regular black tea because we know it’s rich in beneficial antioxidants that support good overall health, especially that of our immune system. But did you know that green tea can also help to protect our mental health?
Studies suggest that drinking green tea can increase the levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, both of which help to improve our mood. Different studies have shown that those who consume green tea could reduce the symptoms of mild depression.
Green tea is available in tea bags or as loose tea and is prepared in much the same way as regular tea, using hot water. It isn’t common to add milk or sugar to green tea, instead it’s enjoyed in the same way as herbal tea. If you like hot drinks a little sweeter, add half a teaspoon of honey.
