Eating the Right Foods After Exercise
Of all these foods to avoid after exercise, the worst offender is not eating at all. If you’re exercising and dieting to lose weight, it can be tempting to carry on after working out without eating.
But it’s so important to refuel after working out. This helps to maintain a healthy relationship with food, as well as helping the body repair and recover at the same time as building lean protein and burning fat.
It’s best to save a large meal for one to two hours after exercising, so a high protein, nutritious snack such as peanut butter on oat cakes or a banana with a handful of nuts is a good post-workout snack whilst your body calms down and relaxes. Keep up the good work!
