Take a Break from your Mobile
The first thing most of us do in the morning is check our phones. We go to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, news feeds, emails and websites just in case we missed something while we were sleeping. We have this strange need to share our lives with strangers on social media and often the fallout causes us pain. Try switching off your phone for 24 hours over a weekend and find out how freeing that can be.
Recent research has shown that there is a strong link between anxiety and the overuse of mobile phones. The study looked at the correlation between mobile phone use, academic achievement and anxiety levels. The results clearly demonstrated that anxiety increased in proportion to the amount of time spend on a mobile phone.
Taking a break from your mobile enables you to be more sociable, connecting with those around you. It allows to relax and not be a slave to your phone. You’ll begin to realise that your work emails can wait until Monday. Your mind needs to switch off from work, to reboot and balance. Likewise, you don’t always need to hear your friends’ and family issues as they happen. Everyone deserves and needs a break.
