Bottled Salad Dressings

Store bought salad dressings are laden with sugar, high-fructose syrup, and fat, plus they often contain high doses of salt, so they aren’t the best choice to finish off your otherwise healthy salad. Too much salt is known to cause high blood pressure, while scientists have found high-fructose syrup induces metabolic dysregulation and promotes the growth of intestinal tumours.

Many supermarket dressings contain extra preservatives and additives to improve the flavouring and colouring and disguise cheap ingredients – and this is even more common if you purchase fat-free dressing.

Olive oil and balsamic or apple cider vinegar is a far healthier option to dress your salad with instead – and it’s super delicious too, as well as easy to make at home. You can create a quick and easy dressing for your salad that tastes delicious and is beneficial for your health by blending 3 tablespoons of olive oil with a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, and then adding in a pinch of pepper, garlic, and basil.
