4. Nut Butter and Banana on Toast
Nut butters don’t have to be made from peanuts – everything from cashew nuts to almonds and macadamia nuts are now available as spreadable nut butters, so there’s lots of experimenting to be done.
Seed butters are also available, such as sunflower seed butter and pumpkin seed butters. Nuts and seeds are fantastic protein sources and also provide vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, selenium and zinc.
Bananas are famous for being a rich source of potassium, that’s important for regulating blood pressure. But they’re also rich in fibre that helps to support good gut health and vitamin B6 that we need for healthy metabolism. So what do we get if we combine nut butters with bananas? A veritable health feast! Add in wholemeal bread, and it’s the perfect, belly-filling breakfast that should curb any snack cravings before lunch.
