Cacao is the raw form of cocoa before all the fats and sugars have been added and is super healthy. It’s packed with antioxidants that help to support the healthy functioning of the immune system. Cacao is also rich in magnesium that we need for healthy teeth and bones, and fibre that supports a healthy gut.

Hemp is derived from the same plant as cannabis, but with absolutely zero psychotic effects. It’s a rich source of plant-based protein and is perfect for adding protein to a vegan diet.

Both cacao and hemp are available as powders that can be added to smoothies along with berries and other fruits to provide a healthy breakfast ideal for on-the-go. This smoothie packs a protein punch too, as we use pea milk (yes, pea milk, which is a big deal these days!) and is suitable for anyone on a plant-based or dairy-free diet.


• 250ml pea milk
• 1 heaped scoop hemp powder
• 1 heaped scoop cacao powder
• I medium banana
• Handful of berries (frozen berries are ideal)
• 1 heaped teaspoon nut butter


• Add all of the ingredients to a blender of smoothie make and whizz until smooth
