Green tea has thoroughly earned its superfood (superdrink?) crown and is so good for the skin, it’s even found in some skincare preparations. It’s extremely rich in polyphenols – plant compounds that have potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Regularly drinking green tea can help to calm inflamed, angry skin caused by acne rosacea and eczema.

The main polyphenol in green tea, called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is a particularly potent antioxidant that can protect the health of the skin cells – and healthy skin cells equal glowing skin.

Plus, keep those used green tea bags! Once cool, open them up (or use loose leaf tea) and press the leaves onto your face. Relax for ten minutes to let the polyphenols do their work soothing irritated or stressed out skin.
